Quotes:
-
“It’s hard sometimes to get kids to buy into the math. And so introducing the Financial Algebra course is a big step of saying: here’s the math that you need to know and also here’s some context that you can use to apply it immediately.” -Dave
-
“Especially if you are doing digital learning, it doesn’t have to be flat. It can be really dynamic and really interactive -- the more we’re pressing into that, we’re at our best.” -Meaghan
-
“We treat it [the Financial Algebra Course] very similar to how we treat most of our curriculum development. We go into it thinking about what learning outcomes we want, what are the big meaty questions here, and I think Desmos gives another layer to make it more interactive.” -Kathryn

About the Authors
Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
