[The Resource]  RESEARCH: FAFSA Deadlines

The Gist: The FAFSA filing period just opened up on October 1st, and this is the perfect activity to have your students do so they can navigate the different deadlines they have to meet! 

The Best Parts:

• Teachers always tell us how confusing the FAFSA filing process can be for students because of all the different deadlines. Students tackle this very challenge by researching what the FAFSA deadlines are at the federal, state, and college level. 
• Students take their research one level deeper by finding out what the priority FAFSA deadlines are for schools they are interested in and understand the importance of filing the FAFSA as soon as possible. 
• Being selected for verification can be an intimidating process when filing the FAFSA. Luckily, students will learn what it means to be selected for verification and what steps they need to take in this activity so they don't need to worry!
