FinCap Friday Frenzy Contest: Win a Virtual visit from Yanely and a Classroom Set of her Upcoming Book!
By playing FinCap Friday, your class can enter for a chance to win an exciting virtual visit from Yanely Espinal, the creator of NGPF's FinCap Friday, along with a classroom set of her book, Mind Your Money and a pizza party for the winning class in each round!
TLDR: Participating is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Play FinCap Friday with your students over the next month from February 24th to March 23rd.
- Submit an entry that includes student insights gleaned from the FinCap Friday before the weekly deadlines (see chart below).
- The winner will be announced weekly each Friday during the contest period in the FinCap Friday post on the NGPF blog.
You choose your level of participation in the contest. Your students can play in one round of the contest or increase the odds of winning by making FinCap Friday a weekly routine.

The Fine Print:
- All U.S. middle and high school teachers who play FinCap Friday with their students and fully complete the entry form are eligible to participate.
- The time stamps on your entry will determine the contest round that you are participating in.
- Your classroom can play any FinCap Friday in the FinCap Friday Library.
- You can complete separate entries for each of your class periods that participates in the contest. For example, if you use FinCap Fridays in three of your class periods you can complete a separate entry for each of the the three periods.
- You can participate in each of the four rounds but each round’s entry must include a different FinCap Friday completed by your students.
- Heighten the excitement by sharing on social media: tag @NextGenPF and use the hashtag #FinCapFriday.
- There will be one classroom winner per round. ONLY that one class period of students will receive the virtual visit from Yanely at a mutually agreed upon time and a classroom set of books, which will be up to 35 copies of her book.
- Yanely’s new book, Mind Your Money: Insightful Stories and Strategies to Help You Reach Your #MoneyGoals is expected to be delivered to the winners by mid-May.

Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
